Runway Re-Marking Project – Due to current dew point and humidity conditions, the previously scheduled overnight airport closures have been cancelled. When the dew point is too close to the ambient air temperature, the pavement marking paint may not cure properly, which can affect adhesion, reflectivity, and the overall durability of the markings.
To allow the work to be completed during more favorable conditions, the project has been rescheduled for Tuesday, October 6th and Wednesday, October 7th. The airport will be closed to fixed-wing aircraft from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on both days. Helicopter (rotary-wing) operations will remain permitted during the closures.
The contractor is hopeful that the remaining work can be completed in one day. However, we are currently planning for closures on both Tuesday and Wednesday to allow sufficient time in the event a second day is needed.
We understand the impact these closures have on our airport operations and appreciate your continued patience and cooperation as we work to complete the project.
